Spirituality, rationality, reason and abstinence play a key role

This is the digital form of the German journal published by the Islamic Academy in Germany (Islamische Akademie Deutschland IAD). Since more than three centuries the journal includes authentic fundamental texts, comments, reports and current connections.

The quarterly publication “Al-Fadschr” supports the dialogue between religions in a modern age. Spirituality, dialogue, rationality, reason, modesty and abstinence play a key role.

In the current age of modernity and technological growth many people yearn for inner peace and true happiness. Certainly, progress creates new comfort but the alienation of people from themselves and their true purpose proceed more and more. The Islamic dawn (= Al-Fadschr) broached in a time when many people became aware of their alienation and searched for an alternative path of life.

Allah vowed on this dawn in chapter 89 of the holy Qur’an and revealed a message in which every human achieves his independence. We ask Him to lead this dawn’s flair to a bright morrow where oppression, exploitation and corruption is replaced by justice, peace and reason.

We hope that with this journal “Al-Fadschr” we will be able to contribute to the light ray of dawn.
