We are hopeful that the children who use our app will acquire more knowledge about how to handle a fire and how to take the necessary precautionary steps towards a fire safe home. The game provides a fun and interactive connection between their own home and the image on the screen, motivating children to take the concept of the game beyond the screen and apply it to real life situations. Besides the game component of the app, our application will also feature other multimedia components to reinforce skills of fire safety, such as a video with a song instructing viewers on an action to take when a smoke alarm sounds, an interactive quiz, and a fun facts page divided into sections for reasons for house fires, such as cooking, heating, intentional, electrical, smoking, washer/dryer, exposure, candle, and playing.
