Description
Learn Morse Code (CW) on your device. This application will walk you through the process of learning CW by ear, which is the correct way to learn. Learning by looking at dots and dashes is actually a hindrance. Not many ham operators would recommend anything other than learning by ear. The developer had an extra class amateur radio license since 1982, and worked all 50 states and 30 countries using CW and a homemade antenna and low power transmitter.
A new feature has been added that will allow you to spool code practice from the AE website. Practice files will be regularly updated. Speed ranges from 5 words per minute to 30 words per minute.
Screens include the following:
Learning the alphabet in order of difficulty, not alphabetical order. This is the best way to learn.
CW test. As you hear each letter or number, you type along. You get a test score at the end.
Random word practice.
Practice sending CW with a paddle keyer. The letters will be shown above the keyer.
Antenna calculator. Gives you the dimensions for a dipole antenna for the particular amateur radio frequency you want.
Emergency SOS. Continuously sounds an SOS at higher speed until you press the cancel button. Could come in handy in emergencies.
