Perform complex armory searches easily. The search accounts for things that require multiple searches at the O&A website, or which just aren't supported: removal of charge groups, complex fields, posture DC vs SC, and so forth.
Find the most likely conflicts quickly.
Click an item to see its details. Armory results include clickable headers as well as links to the online Pictorial Dictionary of Heraldry.
Browse the Ordinary, if you want. The O&A's lexicon is included, to match English terms against Ordinary headers so you don't have to.
Text search supports fuzzy matches, exact matches, whole- and starts-with-word matches. Search within names, blazon, and notes. Filter out (or include) obsolete items. You can also enter item RegIds, and find those items directly.
Share all or some search results: OneNote, Messenger, any application registered to receive share content. You can also copy to the clipboard, including a special OSCAR-friendly format.
Working on an idea? Tap the star icon to add queries or items to a lightweight workbook, where you can collect notes. Workbooks sync across your devices.
Quickly execute searches against common references: LOAR, Family Search, the MED, and the PicDic.

Description

This is a tool for heraldry as practiced by the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international educational organization focused on studying the Middle Ages. It is intended for use by SCA heralds involved in armory and names consultation, and is distributed according to the terms of use found in the O&A Notice.

NOTE: The database is packaged separately. When first run, the app will require the database be downloaded from the server.

Future plans: UI improvements, cross-reference links, manage/export workspace.

Those wishing to learn more are encouraged to explore the SCA website at http://www.sca.org.
