The current Bangla calendar system in Bangladesh was defined by Bangla Academy based on suggestions made by the committee of late Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah. It’s been officially used in Bangladesh since 1988. As this is a modified version of traditional Bengali calendar, the dates displayed here won’t exactly match with calendars still being used in West Bengal.
