Calculo calculates and displays on cards:

Caluclo is like a spreadsheet except instead of rows and columns of blank cells you work with images of cards.

Each card has a name that can be used to get the card when you need it. You can type a note on a card or enter a formula on a card and save it for later use.

Calculo offers an alternate way to make calculations when a full sized spreadsheet is not required or desired. Think of each card as being not just a passive object that contains data but rather as an actor that receives, stores, computes and displays data.

These are not ordinary cards. As you use them, you find they will contain multi-page formatted text documents or graphs of multi-line data plots or if need be just plain simple short text or numbers.

If you enter a formula (Calculo calls them expressions) on a card, Calculo will calculate the formula and show the result on the card. Its like a fast free-form calculator.

Any card may have a simple value, a block of text or one or more expressions. Or, a card may show a graph of sets of numbers based on an expression on the card or another card.

You can make notes on a card for future reference. You could save notes from a class, compose a poem, make a shopping list, record a recipe, remember a password or just about anything you might use a 3 by 5 card (or a post it) for.
