Description

Cinema Passion OK is software aimed at cinema enthusiasts who want to build a detailed database of actors, directors and movie collections to always have technical and biographical information on their favorite movie stars and their filmography at their disposal. The software consists of interacting apps that allow cinephiles to create their own library of the history of cinema and manage their movie collections.

The Actors Database app is designed to store the biographical information of actors and actresses indicating, of each of them, their stage and birth names, gender, place and date of birth, nationality, the title of their film of debut and that of their masterpiece film, their current spouse and children, their dates of death if they are actors of the past, their educational qualifications, the foreign languages they can speak, the social media where they are present, their foreign voice actors, their physical characteristics (height, weight, eyes, hair), any social commitments and other activities they perform, their primary residence, a personal critical judgment, the film genres the actors are generally associated with, the Academy Awards or any other honors they have received, and any additional biographical notes.

To enter a record in the database, click on the New button, fill in the relevant text fields, upload a photo of the actor and press the Save button. To update an existing record, you must open it using the record scroll arrows or the search function, make the desired changes and press Save. The actor’s name can be imported into the movie collection records to facilitate their completion. The Duplicate button is useful if you need to save two or more records with very similar data because they refer, for example, to two actors with the same background. To duplicate a record, just open the one already stored in the database, click on the Duplicate button, enter the new data and press Save.

The Load picture button allows you to insert the image of the actor or actress in Jpeg or Bitmap format in the record. This image is automatically scaled to fit the size of the preview box. It is however possible to view the photo in full screen by clicking on the zoom icon. The image visible in the box can be saved to disk or deleted at any time using the appropriate buttons.

By using the Attach files button it is possible to attach documents of any kind to the record of each actor or actress (for example, frames taken from the movies in which he or she starred).

The Slide show button shows in sequence, at six-second intervals and in full screen, all the photos of the actors and actresses in the database. Once the last photo in the database has been viewed, the slide show starts from the beginning. To exit slide show mode, simply click anywhere on the screen.

The software allows you to carry out advanced searches in the database even using a partial search key, that is, indicating one or more consecutive words contained in any text field. For each search you can refer to one or more fields at the same time. For example, it is possible to obtain a list of all the actors in the database associated with a specific movie genre or of those who have obtained an Academy Award.

After saving the record, pressing the Filmography button gives you access to a window where you can list and print all the films in which the actor has starred. To add a film to the filmography, just press the Add movie button, fill in the text fields in the window that appears, press Save and then Close. For each film you must indicate the title, the release year, the movie genre, the director’s name and the running time of the movie.

To edit a film in the filmography, you need to select it in the list with a click, press the Update movie button, make the desired corrections, additions or deletions in the text fields, press Save and then Close. At the bottom of the list is the total number of movies stored in the actor’s filmography.

It is possible to export each database to a Microsoft Excel file to be able to share the data with those who do not have the same app. The individual records of the actors accompanied by their photos can be previewed or printed on paper.

The Movie Collections app provides an environment with a series of text fields in which you need to enter information about each film that is part of your movie library. To create a new collection of films, press the Create new movie collection button, type the name of the new collection in the text field and confirm the operation.

When a new movie collection is created, the software automatically generates a database file with the extension DVD. Each database may contain an unlimited number of records, each of which accompanied by detailed information and a photo of the film poster.

To identify the new movie collection without the possibility of error, it is good practice to give it a name as complete as possible using keywords that indicate, for example, the film genre or historical period which the filmography refers to.

The trash can icon allows you to delete the selected movie collection. This function should be used with great caution since a deleted database cannot be recovered.

The individual records of each film collection can be viewed on screen or printed on paper.

The data to be indicated in the form concern the title of the movie, the director’s name, the country and year of release, the protagonist, the actors belonging to the cast, the film genre, the distribution company, the original language in which the film was shot, the original title, the other languages that can be selected on the film DVD, the subtitles available, the composer’s name, the film DVD shelf mark, any awards obtained by the actors and producers of the film, the running time, the price of the film DVD, a personal rating, a synopsis that summarizes the film’s plot, and any further notes. The name of the director and the leading actor can be imported from the respective databases using the buttons on the right of the relevant text fields.

The Load picture button allows you to insert the image of the movie poster in Jpeg or Bitmap format in the record. This image is automatically scaled to fit the size of the preview box. It is however possible to view the photo in full screen by clicking on the zoom icon. The image visible in the box can be saved to disk or deleted at any time using the appropriate buttons.

The Slide show button shows in sequence, at six-second intervals and in full screen, all the pictures of the movie posters in the database. Once the last picture in the database has been viewed, the slide show starts from the beginning. To exit slide show mode, simply click anywhere on the screen.

By using the Attach files button it is possible to attach documents of any kind to the record of each movie (for example, the movie trailer in MP4 format or a photo of the leading actor).

The software allows you to carry out advanced searches in the database even using a partial search key, that is, indicating one or more consecutive words contained in any text field. For each search you can refer to one or more fields at the same time. It is possible to export each database to a Microsoft Excel file to be able to share the data with those who do not have the same app. The individual records of the movies accompanied by their posters can be previewed or printed on paper.

The Directors Database app is designed to store the biographical information of filmmakers indicating, of each of them, their stage and birth names, gender, place and date of birth, nationality, the title of their film of debut and that of their masterpiece film, their current spouse and children, their dates of death if they are movie directors of the past, their educational qualifications, the foreign languages they can speak, the social media where they are present, their assistants, their physical characteristics (height, weight, eyes, hair), any social commitments and other activities they perform, their primary residence, a personal critical judgment, the film genres the directors are generally associated with, the Academy Awards or any other honors they have received, and any additional biographical notes.

To edit a film in the filmography, you need to select it in the list with a click, press the Update movie button, make the desired corrections, additions or deletions in the text fields, press Save and then Close. At the bottom of the list is the total number of movies stored in the director’s filmography.

It is possible to export each database to a Microsoft Excel file to be able to share the data with those who do not have the same app. The individual records of the movie directors accompanied by their photos can be previewed or printed on paper.

Access to the software is protected by a user-upgradeable password that can be changed as often as desired. For the first access to the software, you must use the keyword “password” (written without the quotation marks).

Cinema Passion OK is therefore the ideal tool for film collectors looking for an app that allows them to easily and accurately catalog the biographical records of actors and directors as well as all the film DVDs that fill the shelves of their video library, creating a database for each individual movie collection. The user will be pleasantly surprised to see how the software requires practically no learning time.
