What’s the difference between using this and just using Windows Explorer?
That’s a good question, and the answer to it was what prompted the creation of this application.
The reasons to use Dank Meme Organizer over Explorer are:

It’s faster.
How could it be faster, you ask? One would assume that the implementation Windows has is the more optimized one, but as you would know if you have a large meme gallery it takes way too long for Explorer to sort your memes so when you first open the meme folder it displays in an unsorted order and you have to wait for the green bar at the top to finish, which takes a while. DMO (Dank Meme Organizer) has way faster loading times when you take this sorting delay into account.

It automatically tags your memes.
As mentioned earlier, DMO uses machine learning to automatically apply tags to your memes. This includes meme classification as well as text recognition, meaning if you know that you have a meme that includes the phrase “slaps roof” then you can search for that and all memes containing that text will show up. Why not tag them yourself? It’s very time consuming to go through your collection of 200 expanding brain memes and write down their exact text content.

It provides better search options.
You (will be) able to search for specific file types such as mp4 or gif and you will be able to only search for memes from between specific dates and times.

It allows you to preview your memes.
Scrolling through your Explorer folder and having to open all your webms and gifs just to see what they are is very annoying. DMO allows you to just hover your mouse over the meme and it will play. In the case of GIFs you can automatically play them if you want to.
