This program is a program for managing files and archives in the Windows operating system. It works in text mode and provides a simple and intuitive interface to perform most necessary operations.

The program has a multilingual, easy-to-configure interface. File system navigation is made easier by highlighting and sorting groups using color. Its functionality is greatly extended through external DLL modules - plugins (implemented through a special set of interfaces - plugin APIs). For example: archive support, FTP client, ad hoc panel and web browser are all implemented as plugins and included in Far’s standard distribution.
