Description
What is an irregular plural?
An irregular plural is a plural that does not follow the normal rules of English. The normal rule is to append “s”, or if a word ends in “s” or “sh”, then append “es”.
Many irregular plurals are animals or fish, such as “sheep”, “deer”, “moose”, “salmon”, “tuna”, etc. Words ending in “f” or “o” are often, but not always, irregular.
Level One:
In Level One, the sentence is spoken by the app when the frame appears, so the student can hear the correct plural. The student then slides the correct word into the sentence.
Level Two:
In Level Two, there is no audio clue to the correct answer, and the sentences have a mixture of both regular and irregular plurals.
Advanced Level:
In the Advanced Level, the student is presented with each noun and must select the correct plural. The student must also correctly identify the plural as either regular or irregular.
