Oscar Talks is a free Windows application to provide Augmentative and Alternative Communication for users with special needs. The user clicks or touches tiles with images and/or words on the screen. The PC will show and say the word or phrase in 12 different languages.

Oscar can be fully customized to suit a broad range of needs and preferences. The screen can show very few large tiles with images or many more smaller tiles with just the words to say.

Oscar will come with a vocabulary of common words with images but creating your own vocabulary is as simple as creating a text tile.

To make communication quick and easy, Oscar uses the previously generated phrases and phrases commonly used in the 13 languages, to provide suggestions.

Oscar also offers an on-screen piano to play music chords just by touching the screen.

A dedicated button, with the bell, will sound an alert and flash the screen to draw immediate attention when necessary.

All this works on a standard Windows PC with a touch screen or mouse. In those situations where a PC is not practical, Oscar can make prints of the tiles for the user to point at.
