Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious . In 2002 Pope John Paul II added the Luminous Mysteries.
Verbal prayer is recited fifteen decades ( complete Rosary ) or five decades of the Hail Mary , each decade headed by an Our Father, while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary.
The Holy Church received the Rosary in its form with 15 mysteries in the year 1214 in a miraculous way : when Our Lady appeared to Santo Domingo and deliver it as a powerful tool for the conversion of heretics and other sinners of the time. Since then the devotion quickly spread around the world with amazing and miraculous results.
