The Progressive Timer was developed out of need to time events that change by a fixed amount each time it is run. Brewing Oolong tea was the inspiration, as it has a “Warm Up” brew to open the leaves (first time tea is discarded), then the normal duration is set. Each time it is run, 5 seconds are added as the leaves take longer to extract the tea.

Other cases might be endurance training, like running.

There are many features missing from this initial version. In upcoming versions there will be, being able to decrement the iterations, timer start screen pins, background timers, lock screen badge, export and import timers, and access to cloud storage.
