The program allows you to quickly switch between Internet radio and TV stations without having to open them in your browser. It requires the latest version of Windows Media Player and RealPlayer. Also, RealPlayer must be open when running Solway Player.

Internet TV and Radio Player includes a related tool, Voice Recorder, which lets you record music from the web to MP3, WMA or Ogg Vorbis files in three quality levels. The TV and radio players themselves list stations in the sidebar to the left of the main display. Controls for the player are basic, although we can switch between radio and TV lists, and specify broadband or dial-up stations. and only show favorites. Clicking New or Edit lets us add or modify station details using the same property sheet, which has fields for Home and Streaming URL. The player includes a decent selection of stations and an adequate list of TV stations, which is more than a small typical free-to-air TV player, with plenty of public affairs channels, national radio, and music video channels.
