Description

World and Beliefs Beliefs make up the world and everything you see hear touch taste and feel were created by or interpreted by beliefs. Some beliefs are unique to you yourself but the majority originate from your environment. You me we are all born into a world full of beliefs and as you grow up you will be socialized into accepting those beliefs as the truth. We’re all living in a world made up of other people’s beliefs and ideas and we take them for our own somewhere along the way. We agreed to the beliefs as we see them as all that is true in the world. Nothing more nothing less. Its very common to forget as we grow up that these belief systems have been accepted by us as the ‘right’ answers and forget that they are really subjective and malleable. For whatever read at some point later in life we decide to change something about ourselves like we want to lose some weight earn more money find a partner leave a partner become more compassionate become more intelligent do more work remember our dreams and chase after them and numerous other things we can control about ourselves and our lives our consciousness gives us the fundamental characteristic to motivate ourselves to improve. Its sometimes a bit a taunting task since we work hard at making these changes struggle against ourselves in the hopes of surmounting a lifetime of conditioning and habit. We are successful sometimes though realistically we revert back to our old familiar patterns after only a few hours days or weeks most of the time.
What keeps us off? So what prevents us from transforming ourselves into the people we want to become? What’s the one factor that let’s Jeff keep eating Twinkies and not being able to lost that extra 108lbs? Despite Emily’s best intentions why can’t she find someway to be nice to anyone even herself? Why does Rich fail to become rich despite his immense talent and intelligence? Belief is the answer to all those questions. Every single of of those people and all of us have a belief deep down that conflicts with the change we all want to make in our lives and leaves a feeling of being on a sinking ship each day not able to escape. Much like the Titanic. There is so much concern today about global warming and the shrinking of the polar caps yet the frigid waters of both poles still are littered with icebergs. When the Titanic set sail in 1912 from Southampton England on its journey to New York City there were even more of those things among the waters and the Titanic was the pinnacle boat of its day the highest standard in luxury and extravagance. Mankind created it as a testament to the beauty of the world so many lives came together to collaborate and make this magnificent ship that so much human effort had been put into contracting the floating wonderland.
Extension Its was indestructible but after it had set sail Captain Edward John Smith got warning of icebergs that were further down south than was predicted. Upon hearing this news Captain Smith became careful and deviated his course into warmer waters since he believed that would be enough to avoid the dangerous ice-cubes. Of course if you know your history or the 1997 movie he was wrong. The Titanic barreled straight into one of the icebergs and then in a moment the hopes and dreams of so many people aboard their futures where dashed into oblivion at that very moment because of an iceberg only one-ninth of which are visible to the human eyes. The rest of the iceberg laid silently underwater hidden from sight.
