Written in 1922 by Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit chronicles a stuffed rabbit’s quest to become “real” through the love of his owner—a boy with a room full of toys that compete for his attention. Over time, the rabbit and the boy become inseparable, but when the boy falls ill with scarlet fever, his doctor recommends all his toys should be burned to prevent the spread of germs—including his beloved velveteen rabbit. Sun sets as the velveteen rabbit sits on the rubbish heap that is to be burned the next morning.

When a real tear falls from the rabbit’s cheek, a magical fairy appears and carries the rabbit deep into the woods. The fairy tells the rabbit of the boy’s love for him and how she has come to make him real. She kisses the rabbit and he leaps away to play with the other rabbits who have been watching his transformation.

Now your child can enjoy this timeless story of love and friendship in a beautifully crafted unabridged version featuring 26 animated pages, rich music, custom art, and optional narration with read-along text.
