Christian Rock is the expression of the Christian faith through Rock music. Born out of the Jesus movement of the late 60s, it offers an alternative to the secular Rock scene. Notable artists over the years include Larry Norman, Daniel Amos, Petra, Resurrection Band, Stryper, dcTalk, MxPx, P.O.D., and Switchfoot.

Usually, Rock music incorporating Christian themes or with a Christian message stemming from the artists’ Christian beliefs. Christian Rock can span genres, styles and, trends as diverse as Rock itself. There is controversy over the term, with many Christians and Non-Christians mainly just tagging such bands as Alternative Rock etc.
