WiFi Radio is a free, simple and easy to use internet radio app that allows you to play radio stations on your Kindle or other Android device.

WiFi Radio really is free. There is no price and no on-board adverts. No aspect of WiFi radio needs any other key/code or other un-free activity to make it work fully.

The app includes over 100 top radio stations. Including stations from the UK, the USA, France, Germany, Spain, and elsewhere. For example nearly all of the UK BBC stations are included

The user can also easily add new stations. So the app can be used anywhere in the world All you need is a valid MP3 streaming URL that WiFi Radio can access and the ability to write a very simple text script. (detailed instructions are in the on-board info and even more on the the website (https://wifiradio.home.blog)

The on-board instructions are backed up by a website (https://wifiradio.home.blog) with more free support. (the website does have some adverts – but on the website only)

The app will happily run in the background so you can (example) read an ebook or a PDF while the radio plays.

WiFi Radio is intended to run over a wifi link (hence the name) but it will also run using mobile data connection if you have one and there is no wifi.

Like any streaming data app WiFi radio can make a serious dent in your monthly mobile data allowance. So the default (but user configurable) operation is wifi only.

WiFi radio was written as a design/coding exercise which is now complete. So I am giving it away.

There may be no such thing as a free lunch. But there is a free internet radio player - WiFi Radio.
