Help keep your child safe by keeping up on the latest product recall notices and safety bulletins. BabySafe aggregates consumer product recall and safety information from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Having access to the latest recall information can help parents and caregivers identify recalled products and prevent injuries. According to Consumer Reports, child-related items accounted for 73 percent of all recalled items between October 2009 and September 2010.

The first time that BabySafe is launched, it downloads the latest recall and safety bulletins from the Internet. BabySafe will automatically connect and update its information. Optionally, pressing the menu button and selecting Refresh will cause the application to update immediately.

Once started, a list of recent alerts is displayed chronologically by publication date. The title, publication date, and a short description are listed for each alert. To search the list of alerts, enter a search term into the filter box at the top of the screen and click the icon. Clicking on an alert will open the alert details screen.

To share an alert with a friend, click the menu key and Send To from the alert details screen. Sharing allows you to send a link to the original bulletin to friend or post the alert to a social networking site like Facebook.
