About Cosmogony

It is the biggest and constantly updated space Illustrated Encyclopedia. Every day astrophysicists tells about interesting facts and events from the life of the Universe in accessible language!

The app contains more than 7,500 articles. This is the whole volume of the material since the foundation of the project, which has lasted about twenty years. Navigation between related articles will allow you to plunge deeper into the phenomenon described. A detailed photos will allow you to closer to examine it.

For over 20 years now the U.S. space agency (NASA) has been posting one astronomy picture with a detailed description of a depicted event or phenomenon a day.

– Most detailed images of the Solar System’s planets and their natural satellites, taken by spacecrafts while performing their tasks. For example, not so long ago the MESSENGER completed its mission at Mercury, and as a result we can see detailed images of the planet’s surface with its hills, lowlands and magnetic anomalies.

– Images of a comet’s surface with incredible detail, recently received from the Rosetta, make you feel as if you were standing in your backyard.

– Detailed images of Pluto and Charon with its dark area nicknamed “Mordor”, which were made when the New Horizons spacecraft approached the distant reaches of the Solar System, one can call the main astronomical event of the year.

– Images of galaxies and the majestic process of them merging together.

– Rockets launching and photos from launching sites.

In our app you will find it all with easy to use navigation by days. You can see what has been posted today, or what was posted yesterday, the day before yesterday or last week. Several levels of detail will allow you to easily select a random day from an image preview, then go to view it and read its description.

Each new day the app updates its image automatically.

The descriptions of images are available in English, Spanish, Russian, French, German, Polish and Czech. Everything is translated by amateur astronomers from these countries.
