If aviation is in your blood, FlightMate is for you. FlightMate is a dual package consisting of a Flight Calculator and a voice annotated electronic Checklist.
With the Flight Calculator a pilot can do many flight calculations and conversions. Some examples of calculations are Distance & Direction to Waypoint, Descent Rate, Radius of Action, Wind Correction. The most important calculations a pilot may need are included. Examples of conversions are U.S.Gallons(fuel) to Pounds, U.S.Gallons(oil) to Pounds, Statute Miles to Nautical Miles, Statute Miles to Kilometres, Fahrenheit to Celsius. Conversions work backward or forward(Celsius to Fahrenheit/Fahrenheit to Celsius).
With the voice annotated electronic Checklist the pilot can be audibly and visually reminded of his flight procedures during any part of his flight. The checklists consists of Normal Procedures, Abnormal Procedures and Emergencies. While Abnormal Procedures and Emergencies are in list form, Normal Procedures are detailed and are handled one-by-one. The voice annotations are on by default but can be switched off in the setup menu item.
FlightMate has a very easy to use menu based graphical interface.Use it in flight or use it to learn your flight procedures. Flightsimmers can benefit from FlightMate too, so why don’t you go ahead and download this working demo version of a very fine application. The demo version gives you a peep into the full version of FlightMate. Some menu Items are grayed out so that you can see them but they are inactive.
