About Learning Labels Application

Learning labels is a patent pending system to manage and track skills, which includes an interface to create learning pathways and dashboards. The elements of the application include: jobs (job labels), courses (syllabi), projects / lesson plans, users (students and professionals), and tasks / experiences (learning labels).

The target audience of users of the system include K-12, higher education, career counselors, curriculum designers, publishers of learning resources, workforce development planners, and other type of learning practitioner. Create an account and build the learning pathways and dashboards from the standard and mobile web applications.

The current structure of the system includes a substantial website application (optimized for large screens) where much of the designing and building the pathways takes place. There are three mobile website (www.skillslabel.com/mobile/createelements) applications to create the elements and work with the pathways.

This Windows application is based on one of the mobile web applications. A user accesses the elements, pathways, and dashboards already created with a valid administrator account. A logged in user makes modifications to the learning pathways from the application.

The clear WIFM (value prop) for the Windows application is access anytime and anywhere. Like a learning tasking application, a user makes changes when the inspiration hits. For example during, or after a course, a professor might add a task for a student based on an experience in the class (likewise for a job poster, trainer, etc.)

Looking to expand functionality and use cases of this and future mobile application on Windows.

This is free to use and try. The Guest account gives access to a sample data set, though modifying pathways requires a valid login.

Instructions to use the mobile application are simple. Swipe Left / Right to move through the sections and Up /Down to move through the elements. There is a button to mark a pathway and see its aggregates. At each corner, there are buttons for app settings, selecting dashboards, choosing sections, and adding elements to pathways (all fairly self explanatory).

Start building elements, pathways, and dashboards online: www.skillslabel.com . Once created, access them in this application.

Add search and rendering of job labels. Users now choose to search for learning or job labels as a SERP. Added the ‘skills matching’ algorithm; skills on the labels are ranked and sorted based on a weighted average of the SERP.

New search algorithm. Use search to find new learning and job labels. A logged-in user might do a peer review or clone from the SERP. Search does not require a login.

New peer reviews. Use the bottom left navigation button to access the application. Choose a label, then begin verifying how each skills is applied in the resource. One admin user.

Added two other applications: Learning Labels Dashboard and Learning Labels Create. Quickly navigate between all the applications.

Learning Labels Dashboard is an effective way to manage collections, subsets of elements. The grid is responsive on all screens (including touch). Practitioners can create, update, delete, and access dashboards to represent what is required; for example, a course, class, personal lesson plan, pathway to a job, a curriculum, etc.

Learning Labels Create requires a valid logged in user account. From the application, a practitioner accesses a simplified user interface to create any of the elements. (These same elements are accessible online, where they can be modified for a deeper, richer definition.)

Toggle between Labels, Maps, and Flashcards in the Learning Labels Paged. Also, new support for keyboard interactions.
