Sensory SpeakUp

Sensory SpeakUp is a visually stimulating simple game style app that responds to sounds. SpeakUp can be used to encourage children to vocalise and make sounds, either through the internal microphone or via and external microphone. A microphone is required for this app, which could be a throat microphone.

Designed to assist with speech therapy, the louder the voice sound, the bigger the shape or pattern becomes. Different activities either give a gross display of the volume or a short trail of volumes.

We also include some colorful audio time trace displays and color changes in response to fricative sounds.

The colors of the display can be set as well as the sound threshold for a visual response. The sound settings allow for a minimum threshold and also a “span of audio” to allow for very quiet or loud voices and sounds to be adjusted for.
