About TLDFLITE - TimeLapse DeFlicker Lite Version

*** Note: This is the lite version of TLDF app and it can only generate images and video up to 720p. To generate full sized images and up to 4K videos, please purchase the full version at: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/tldf-timelapse-deflicker/9n1c981z041t

This app helps you create beautiful flicker-free sunset, cloud, city scape, and day to night time lapse easily. Shoot in auto-exposure modes, TLDF will remove the flickers for you! TLDF supports 16-bit workflow that imports RAW DNG images and output 10-bit ProRes 422HQ Rec.2020 HLG videos in original size.

Please visit the TLDF main website for tutorials and support: http://timelapsedeflicker.com/

Instructions on how to start: Drag and Drop a folder containing images, a list of image files, or a video into the TLDF main window. You can add more files later into the TLDF by dropping more image files into the table on the right side. You can also remove images from the sequence by selecting one of them and press ‘del’ key.

Example workflows:
High Quality Workflow: Import DNG Raw Images -> Deflicker -> Output ProRes 422HQ video in original size and Rec.2020 HLG
Fast Workflow: Import JPEG images -> Deflicker -> Output H.264 video in up to 4K resolution or JPEG files in original size.

Key Features:

  1. The Best Deflickering Algorithm.
  2. 16-bit Editing and Input/Output. Support 16-bit DNG RAW images and 16-bit TIFF images. Deflicker works better in 16-bit editing mode because it can do finer adjustments. Output 16-bit images in TIFF, PNG, or JXR format for 16-bit input.
  3. Output 10-bit ProRes 422 HQ videos with Rec. 2020 HLG for 16-bit input. For 8-bit input, output ProRes video in Rec.709 color space. ProRes output can generate video resolution up to the original input image size.
  4. Reference Area selection for better deflickering. . Click on ‘Set’ button next to ‘Use Reference Area’ and select a region on the image where flicker shouldn’t happen. The best reference area choices are skies and clouds.
  5. Noise Reduction: TLDF’s noise reduction algorithm will further reduce the flicker from your timelapse sequence. This feature can reduce color banding in the skies for 8-bit images. If you use 16-bit workflow, this feature may not be necessary.
  6. Blending: Three modes of blending (average, lighten, darken) can let you create special effects. They can also remove the flickers completely for very challenging timelapse sequences.
  7. Image edit and key framing. Users can modify color temperature, exposure, saturation, and other settings on key frames. TLDF smoothly transition these effects on non-key frames. This feature applies to 8-bit images only. For 16-bit input images, edit is allowed but output will be saved in 8-bit format.
  8. Fast DeFlickering: TLDF will detect number of cores in your system and generate the matching number of concurrent threads (up to 6) for faster deflickering.
