About VZV CZ Patch Editor

A patch editor/manager for the legendary Casio CZ series synths. It can be used with the CZ101 to CZ5000 and the CT6500 for which it can edit the “live” patch(es) in Normal or Multi-Channel modes and from which it can upload presets. The app uses a modern UI to make it highly ergonomic with both touch screens and mouse input.

VZV CZ can load and save standard MIDI sysex files (*.syx) which are CZ compatible. It can read patches from both the synth’s patch memory and “live” patch (the current sound), send patches to the “live” patch and edit every patch parameter. Sysex data is displayed as hexadecimal for copying and pasting in the VZV CZ Console. User patch sets of 16 patches can be created and saved as .syx Sysex files. Sysex data is always saved to file as the default Channel 1 and is then routed to the current MIDI channel selected in VZV CZ.

VZV CZ should work with any capable MIDI interface but this is not guaranteed as some models cannot transmit Sysex reliably. It has been tested with the Roland UM-One, Behringer UMC interfaces and Tobias Erichsen’s Loopback and RTPMidi network MIDI driver.
